33 {Then the king knew Absalom was dead}. The king was very upset. He went up to the room over the gate and cried. He kept crying again and again as he walked to that room. He was saying, “O my son Absalom, my son Absalom! I wish I had died instead of you. O Absalom, my son, my son!”

The king had covered his face. He was crying loudly, “O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!”


A foolish son brings sorrow to his father. And a foolish son brings sadness to the mother that gave birth to him.
