5 “Go back and speak to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him, ‘The Lord, the God of your ancestor [244] David says: I have heard your prayer and I have seen your tears. So I will heal you. On the third day, you will go up to the temple of the Lord.
5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
5 Turn back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of My people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your [forefather]: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.
5 Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the prince of my people, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee; on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of Jehovah.
5 Turn around. Say to Hezekiah, my people’s leader: This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and have seen your tears. So now I’m going to heal you. Three days from now you will be able to go up to the LORD’s temple.
5 "Return and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people: Thus says the Lord, the God of your father David: I have heard your prayer, and I have seen your tears. And behold, I have healed you. On the third day, you shall ascend to the temple of the Lord.
“At this time tomorrow I will send a man to you. He will be from the family group of Benjamin. You must anoint [98] him and make him the new leader over my people Israel. This man will save my people from the Philistines. I have seen my people suffering. I have listened to the cries from my people.”
“Go to Hezekiah and tell him that the Lord, the God of your ancestor {\cf2\super [360]} David says, ‘I heard your prayer, and I saw your tears. I will add 15 years to your life.
Lord, hear my prayer!\par Listen to the words I cry to you.\par Look at my tears.\par I am only a traveler\par passing through this life with you.\par Like all my ancestors, I live here only\par a short time. {\cf2\super [241]} \par
Isaiah son of Amoz sent this message to Hezekiah. He said, “The Lord God of Israel says this, ‘You have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria. I have heard you.’
The Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs of water that give life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Later Jesus found the man at the temple. {\cf2\super [78]} Jesus said to him, “See, you are well now. But stop sinning or something worse may happen to you!”
But the angel said to him, “Zechariah, don’t be afraid. Your prayer has been heard by God. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give birth to a baby boy. You must name him John.
God said, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. {\cf2\super [314]} ’ {\cf2\super [315]} \{If God said he is their God, then\} these men are not really dead. He is the God only of living people.”
The Lord said, “You must obey the Lord, your God. You must do the things he says are right. If you obey all the Lord’s commands and laws, then you will not be sick like the Egyptians. I, the Lord, will not give you any of the sicknesses I gave the Egyptians. I am the Lord. I am the one who makes you well.”
Samuel took a jar of the special oil. Samuel poured the oil on Saul’s head. Samuel kissed Saul and said, “The Lord has anointed (chosen) you to be the leader over the people who belong to him. You will control the Lord’s people. You will save them from the enemies that are all around them. The Lord has anointed you to be ruler over his people. Here is a sign that will prove this is true: [105]
God is the One who made all things. And all things are for his glory. God wanted to have many people to be his children and share his glory. So God did what he needed to do. He made perfect the One (Jesus) who leads those people to salvation. God made Jesus \{a\} perfect \{Savior\} through Jesus’ suffering.
Listen closely to the things I say.\par Listen to me so your souls will live.\par Come to me and I will make an agreement\par with you that will continue forever.\par It will be like the agreement\par that I made with David.\par I promised David that I would love him\par and be loyal to him forever.\par And you can trust that agreement.\par
{\cf2\super [361]} But Hezekiah asked Isaiah, “What is the sign from the Lord that proves \{I will become well? What is the sign that proves\} I will be able to go to the Lord’s temple? {\cf2\super [362]} ”
Even when Saul was our king, you were the one who led us into battle. And you were the one who brought Israel back home from war. And the Lord himself said to you, ‘You will be the shepherd of my people, the Israelites. You will be the ruler over Israel.’”
“‘Now, see that I and only I am God!
There is no other God!
I put people to death
and I let people live.
I can hurt people,
and I can make them well.
No one can save another person
from my power!
When Josiah was in his eighth year as king, he began to follow the God that David his ancestor followed. Josiah was still young when he began to obey God. When Josiah was in his twelfth year as king he began to destroy the high places {\cf2\super [421]} , the Asherah Poles, {\cf2\super [422]} and idols that were carved and idols that were made from molds from Judah and Jerusalem.
God himself is with us. He is our ruler, and his priests are with us. God’s priests blow his trumpets to wake you up and make you excited about coming to him! Men of Israel, don’t fight against the Lord God of your ancestors! {\cf2\super [175]} You will not succeed!”
“One time there was a Pharisee {\cf2\super [283]} and a tax collector. {\cf2\super [284]} One day they both went to the temple {\cf2\super [285]} to pray.
The Lord said to him: “I heard your prayer. I heard the things that you asked me to do. You built this temple. And I have made it a holy place. So I will be honored there forever. I will watch over it and think of it always.
Then the Lord said, “I have seen the troubles my people have suffered in Egypt. And I have heard their cries when the Egyptians hurt them. I know about their pain.
The Lord will punish the people of Egypt. And then the Lord will heal (forgive) them, and they will come back to the Lord. The Lord will listen to their prayers and heal (forgive) them.
