13 Ahaziah sent a third captain with 50 men. The third captain came to Elijah. The captain fell down on his knees. The captain begged Elijah, saying to him, “Man of God, [7] I ask you, please let my life and the lives of your 50 servants be valuable to you!

\{God says,\} “Why should I continue to punish you people? \{I punished you, but you did not change.\} You continue to rebel against me. Now every head and every heart is sick.


Listen! There is a synagogue (group) that belongs to Satan (the devil). Those people say they are Jews, but they are liars. Those people are not \{true\} Jews. I will make those people come before you and bow at your feet. They will know that you are the people I have loved.


So give yourselves to God. Be against the devil, and the devil will run away from you.

Of all the things that happen in this life, the worst thing is that all people end the same way. But it is also very bad that people always think evil and foolish thoughts. And those thoughts lead to death.


You can grind a fool to powder, and still you will not force the foolishness out of him.


God will answer the prayers\par of the people he left alive.\par God will listen to their prayers.\par


The king saves them from cruel people\par who try to hurt them.\par The lives of those poor people are\par very important to the king.\par


Then King Jeroboam said to the man of God, “Please pray to the Lord your God for me. Ask the Lord to heal my arm.”


Then Saul said, “I have sinned. Come back, David my son. Today you showed me that my life is important to you. So I will not try to hurt you. I have acted foolishly. I have made a big mistake.”

Elijah told the captain and his 50 men, “If I am a man of God, [6] let fire come down from heaven and destroy you and your 50 men!”


Fire came down from heaven and destroyed the first two captains and their 50 men. But now, have mercy and let us live!”


Lord, I know that you want people\par to be loyal to you.\par You hit the people of Judah,\par but they did not feel any pain.\par You destroyed them,\par but they refused to learn their lesson.\par They became very stubborn.\par They refused to be sorry\par for the bad things they did.\par
