All the people of Israel that wanted to help brought gifts to the Lord. The people gave these gifts freely, because they wanted to. These gifts were used to make all the things the Lord had commanded Moses and the people to make.


Gather special gifts for the Lord. Each of you should decide in your heart what you will give. And then you should bring that gift to the Lord. Bring gold, silver, and bronze [356] ;


On the first day of every week each one of you should save as much money as you can from what you are blessed with. You should put this money in a special place and keep it there. Then you will not have to gather your money after I come.


The believers decided that they would all try to help their brothers and sisters who lived in Judea. Each believer planned to send them as much as he could.


If I do this work of telling the Good News because it is my own choice, then I deserve a reward. But I have no choice. I must tell the Good News. I am only doing the duty that was given to me.


The people were very happy because their leaders were happy to give so much. The leaders were happy to give freely from good hearts. King David was also very happy.


take care of the group of people that you are responsible for. They are God’s flock. {\cf2\super [31]} Watch over that flock because you want to, not because you are forced to do it. That is how God wants it. Do it because you are happy to serve, not because you want money.


The person who speaks should speak words from God. The person who serves should serve with the strength that God gives. You should do these things so that in everything God will be praised through Jesus Christ. Power and glory belong to him forever and ever. Amen.


We loved you very much. So we were happy to share God’s Good News {\cf2\super [7]} with you; but not only that—we were also happy to share even our own lives with you.


I know that he has worked hard for you and the people in Laodicea and in Hierapolis.


Yes, God is working in you. God helps you want to do the things that please him. And he gives you the power to do these things.


I can say this about the Jews: They really try to follow God. But they don’t know the right way.


Your people will volunteer\par when you gather your army together.\par They will wear their special clothes\par and meet together early in the morning,\par Those young men will be\par \{all around you\} like dew on the ground. {\cf2\super [574]} \par


You were very happy then. Where is that joy now? I remember that \{you wanted to do anything possible to help me\}. You would have taken out your own eyes and given them to me if that were possible.


This woman did the only thing she could do for me. She poured perfume on my body. She did this before I die to prepare me for burial.
