So we asked Titus to help you finish this special work of grace (kindness). Titus is the one who started this work.


My brothers and sisters, I beg you to listen patiently to these things I have said. I said these things to strengthen you. And this letter is not very long.


This is what I think you should do: Last year you were the first to want to give. And you were the first that gave.


I am not commanding you to give. But I want to see if your love is true love. I do this by showing you that other people really want to help.


I asked Titus to go to you. And I sent our brother with him. Titus did not cheat you, did he? No! You know that Titus and I did the same things and with the same spirit.
