1 Samuel 24:19 - Easy To Read Version

19 {This shows I am not your enemy.} A man doesn’t catch his enemy, and then just let him go! He doesn’t do good things for his enemy. I hope the Lord rewards you for being good to me today.

I am innocent,\par so the Lord will give me my reward.\par I did nothing wrong,\par so he will do good things for me.\par


Then Saul said to David, “God bless you, David my son. You will do great things and you will win.”


Saul answered, “The Lord bless you for helping me.


Micah said to his mother, “Do you remember that someone stole 28 pounds [124] of silver from you. I heard you say a curse about that. Well, I have the silver. I took it.”


The Lord will reward you for all the good things you have done. You will be paid in full by the Lord, the God of Israel. You have come to him for safety, [10] {and he will protect you}.”


Jonathan told David, “Don’t be afraid. My father Saul won’t hurt you. You will become the king of Israel. And I will be second to you. Even my father knows this.”


The Lord pays every man for the things he does—he rewards him if he does right, and he punishes him if he does wrong. The Lord let me defeat you today, but I wouldn’t hurt the Lord’s chosen king.
