Then the men said to each other, “We should throw lots {\cf2\super [6]} to learn why these troubles are happening to us.”


The person who respects the Lord is learning to be wise. A person must be humble before he can truly respect the Lord.


Then the apostles used lots {\cf2\super [16]} to choose one of the two men. The lots showed that Matthias was the one that the Lord wanted. So he became an apostle with the other eleven.


Then Saul said to all the Israelites, “You stand on this side. I and my son Jonathan will stand on the other side.”


Saul said, “Throw them again to show who is guilty—me or my son Jonathan.” Jonathan was chosen.


If two powerful people are arguing, throwing lots {\cf2\super [25]} may be the best way to decide the argument.
