7 And when I had seen him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying: Fear not. I am the First and the Last,


And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open the book, nor to see it.


7 Obey your prelates, and be subject to them. For they watch as being to render an account of your souls; that they may do this with joy, and not with grief. For this is not expedient for you.


4 Nations rose up, and were angry: sorrows took hold on the inhabitants of Philisthiim.


And the third poured out his vial upon the rivers and the fountains of waters; and there was made blood.

4 And the living creatures ran and returned like flashes of lightning.


But thou shalt consider with thy eyes: and shalt see the reward of the wicked.


And the first angel sounded the trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mingled with blood, and it was cast on the earth, and the third part of the earth was burnt up, and the third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.


And after he began to be ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared to him: and said unto him: I am the Almighty God: walk before me, and be perfect.


And they shall see his face: and his name shall be on their foreheads.


And he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should no more seduce the nations, till the thousand years be finished. And after that, he must be loosed a little time.


6 But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, not hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth.


3 And in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, one like to the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the feet, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.


And I saw a strong angel, proclaiming with a loud voice: Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?


Now I am glad: not because you were made sorrowful; but because you were made sorrowful unto penance. For you were made sorrowful according to God, that you might suffer damage by us in nothing.


For they that gather it, shall eat it, and shall praise the Lord: and they that bring it together, shall drink it in my holy courts.


4 And they shall be as a doe fleeing away, and as a sheep: and there shall be none to gather them together: every man shall turn to his own people, and every one shall flee to his own land.


Before the face thereof a devouring fire, and behind it a burning flame: the land is like a garden of pleasure before it, and behind it a desolate wilderness, neither is there any one that can escape it.


With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication; and they who inhabit the earth, have been made drunk with the whine of her whoredom.


0 And the press was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the press, up to the horses' bridles, for a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

3 And as for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like that of burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps. This was the vision running to and fro in the midst of the living creatures, a bright fire, and lightning going forth from the fire.


6 And above the firmament that was over their heads, was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of the sapphire stone, and upon the likeness of the throne, was a likeness as of the appearance of a man above upon it.


0 This is the living creature, which I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chobar: and I understood that they were cherubims.


And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat on the throne.


And I saw that the Lamb had opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures, as it were the voice of thunder, saying: Come, and see.


0 And they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, O Lord (holy and true) dost thou not judge and revenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?


5 And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and tribunes, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of mountains:


And another angel came, and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer of the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar, which is before the throne of God.


2 Here is the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.


And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun, and it was given unto him to afflict men with heat and fire:


3 And he was clothed with a garment sprinkled with blood; and his name is called, THE WORD OF GOD.
