6 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremias, saying:


5 And the Lord said to him: No, it shall not be so: but whosoever shall kill Cain, shall be punished sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, that whosoever found him should not kill him.


3 And I will scatter you among the Gentiles, and I will draw out the sword after you, and your land shall be desert, and your cities destroyed.


6 After I shall have broken the staff of your bread: so that ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and give it out by weight: and you shall eat, and shall not be filled.


6 And why call you me, Lord, Lord; and do not the things which I say?


Bind it upon thy fingers, write it upon the tables of thy heart.


3 Arise, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, and cast us not off to the end.


7 Thou hast made all the borders of the earth: the summer and the spring were formed by thee.


For in thy wrath we have fainted away: and are troubled in thy indignation.


Therefore thus saith the Lord God: In the fire of my zeal I have spoken of the rest of the nations, and of all Edom, who have taken my land to themselves, for an inheritance with joy, and with all the heart, and with the mind: and have cast it out to lay it waste.


5 Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the nations any more, nor shalt thou bear the reproach of the people, nor lose thy nation any more, saith the Lord God.
