How do you say: We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Indeed the lying pen of the scribes hath wrought falsehood.


7 For my eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, and their iniquity hath not been hid from my eyes.


8 To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Juda, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof: to make them a desolation, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a curse, as it is at this day.


And now, O ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and ye men of Juda, judge between me and my vineyard.


8 And they fell in the midst of their camp, round about their pavilions.


7 But for the wrath of the enemies I have deferred it: lest perhaps their enemies might be proud, and should say: Our mighty hand, and not the Lord, hath done all these things.


5 And they shall answer: Because they forsook the covenant of the Lord, which he made with their fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt:


Our soul is dry, our eyes behold nothing else but manna.
