Now while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, Abner the son of Ner ruled the house of Saul.


The dwelling in thee is as it were of all rejoicing.


He shall receive a blessing from the Lord, and mercy from God his Saviour.


Who also hath made us fit ministers of the new testament, not in the letter, but in the spirit. For the letter killeth, but the spirit quickeneth.


4 And Sion said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.


I have commanded my sanctified ones, and have called my strong ones in my wrath, them that rejoice in my glory.


By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the power of them by the spirit of his mouth:


2 And I shall beat them as small as the dust before the wind; I shall bring them to nought, like the dirt in the streets.


1 And thou shalt-say in thy heart: Who hath begotten these? I was barren and brought not forth, led away, and captive: and who hath brought up these? I was destitute and alone: and these, where were they?


5 The aged and honourable, he is the head: and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.


8 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things.


And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod: and her son was taken up to God, and to his throne.


Not in the passion of lust, like the Gentiles that know not God:


Insomuch, that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so also he would finish among you this same grace.


5 And his bowels are more abundantly towards you; remembering the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you have received him.
