2 Thou hast given us up like sheep to be eaten : thou hast scattered us among the nations.


4 Your wives, and children, and cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan: but pass you over armed before your brethren, all of you that are strong of hand, and fight for them,


1 And he remembered the days of old of Moses, and of his people: Where is he that brought them up out of the sea, with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put in the midst of them the spirit of his Holy One?


And he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should no more seduce the nations, till the thousand years be finished. And after that, he must be loosed a little time.


And Salmon begot Booz of Rahab. And Booz begot Obed of Ruth. And Obed begot Jesse.


8 But the Syrian fled before Israel: and David slew of the Syrians seven thousand chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and Sophach the general of the army.


Open thy gates, 0 Libanus, and let fire devour thy cedars.


4 And my hand hath found the strength of the people as a nest; and as eggs are gathered, that are left, so have I gathered all the earth: and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or made the least noise.


Whose mouth hath spoken vanity: and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity.


3 This is the Lord's doing: and it is wonderful in our eyes.


7 And when this was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over the Jordan, and came to Helam: and the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought against him.


Its beginning was from the top of the most salt sea, and from the bay thereof, that looketh to the south.


7 At the voice of him that reproacheth and detracteth me : at the face of the enemy and persecutor.
