7 Thou hast taught me, O God, from my youth: and till now I will declare thy wonderful works.


0 my God, his mercy shall prevent me.


The head of them compassing me about: the labour of their lips shall overwhelm them.


8 Saying: Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he leave no children, that his brother should take her to wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.


Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremias the prophet, saying: And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was prized, whom they prized of the children of Israel.


5 Then the high priests rent his garments, saying: He hath blasphemed; what further need have we of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard the blasphemy:


2 And they came and spoke to the king concerning the edict: O king, hast thou not decreed, that every man that should make a request to any of the gods, or men, for thirty days, but to thyself, O king, should be cast into the den of the lions? And the king answered them, saying: The word is true according to the decree of the Medes and Persians, which it is not lawful to violate.


8 Why came I out of the womb, to see labour and sorrow, and that my days should be spent in confusion?


Seek ye the Lord, while he may be found: call upon him, while he is near.


In the morning man shall grow up like grass; in the morning he shall flourish and pass away: in the evening he shall fall, grow dry, and wither.


For in your heart you work iniquity: your hands forge injustice in the earth.


9 But the salvation of the just is from the Lord, and he is their protector in the time of trouble.


If my heart hath been deceived upon a woman, and if I have laid wait at my friend's door:


1 Whether his children come to honour or dishonour, he shall not understand.


5 I have sowed sackcloth upon my skin, and have covered my flesh with ashes.


2 For their destruction shall rise suddenly: and who knoweth the ruin of both?
