8 I will give thanks to thee in a great church; I will praise thee in a strong people.


Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.


7 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him: and others struck his face with the palms of their hands,


5 If I said: I will speak thus; behold I should condemn the generation of thy children.


8 And unto old age and grey hairs: O God, forsake me not, Until I shew forth thy arm to all the generation that is to come: Thy power,


at the voice of the enemy, and at the tribulation of the sinner. For they have cast iniquities upon me: and in wrath they were troublesome to me.


Unto the end, for David the servant of the Lord, who spoke to the Lord the words of this canticle, in the day that the Lord delivered him from the hands of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. [2 Kings 22.]: I will love thee, O Lord, my strength:
