9 But I say: Hath not Israel known? First, Moses saith: I will provoke you to jealousy by that which is not a nation; by a foolish nation I will anger you.


Why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou trouble me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him : the salvation of my countenance,


Let my mouth be filled with praise, that I may sing thy glory; thy greatness all the day long.


3 For until the law sin was in the world; but sin was not imputed, when the law was not.


2 Many calves have surrounded me: fat bulls have besieged me.


I stretched forth my hands to thee: my soul is as earth without water unto thee.


And thou hast not shut me up in the hands of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a spacious place.


Go and say to Ezechias: Thus saith the Lord the God of David thy father: I have heard thy prayer, and I have seen thy tears: behold I will add to thy days fifteen years:


5 The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.


1 Lord, let thy hand be exalted, and let them not see: let the envious people see, and be confounded: and let fire devour thy enemies.


0 He that chastiseth nations, shall he not rebuke: he that teacheth man knowledge?


5 For so is the will of God, that by doing well you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:


The Lord God hath opened my ear, and I do not resist: I have not gone back.


8 I know thy dwelling, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.


For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.


He bowed the heavens, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.


The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me.


5 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue hath cleaved to my jaws: and thou hast brought me down into the dust of death.


He hoped in the Lord, let him deliver him: let him save him, seeing he delighteth in him.


4 Behold, you are of nothing, and your work of that which hath no being: he that hath chosen you is an abomination.


8 For of a truth, O Lord, the kings of the Assyrians have laid waste lands, and their countries.


4 Shall the ploughman plough all the day to sow, shall he open and harrow his ground?


I have declared to thee my life: thou hast set my tears in thy sight, As also in thy promise.


And Abia slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead: in his days the land was quiet ten years.


For the Lord is in the just generation: you have confounded the counsel of the poor man, but the Lord is his hope.


Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am afflicted: my eye is troubled with wrath, my soul, and my belly:


2 But I said in the excess of my mind: I am cast away from before thy eyes. Therefore thou hast heard the voice of my prayer, when I cried to thee.


Because thou, O Lord, art my hope: thou hast made the most High thy refuge.


6 And they shall come from the cities of Juda, and from the places round about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plains, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing holocausts, and victims, and sacrifices, and frankincense, and they shall bring in an offering into the house of the Lord.
