3 But know this ye, that if the goodman of the house knew at what hour the thief would come, he would certainly watch, and would not suffer his house to be broken open.


8 Again I hated all my application wherewith I had earnestly laboured under the sun, being like to have an heir after me,


6 Amen I say to thee, thou shalt not go out from thence till thou repay the last farthing.


2 For I am delighted with the law of God, according to the inward man:


Let him kiss me with the kiss of his mouth: for thy breasts are better than wine,


8 Brought him beds, and tapestry, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and meal, and parched corn, and beans, and lentils, and fried pulse,


3 And his three eldest sons followed Saul to the battle: and the names of his three sons that went to the battle, were Eliab the firstborn, and the second Abinadab, and the third Samma.


And Saul said to his servant: Behold we will go: but what shall we carry to the man of God? the bread is spent in our bags: and we have no present to make to the man of God, nor any thing at all.


6 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.


7 Lo this have I found, said Ecclesiastes, weighing one thing after another, that I might find out the account,


2 Then Achimaas the son of Sadoc said to Joab again: Why might not I also run after Chusai? And Joab said to him: Why wilt thou run, my son? thou wilt not be the bearer of good tidings.


9 And Achimaas the son of Sadoc said: I will run and tell the king, that the Lord hath done judgment for him from the hand of his enemies.


But Absalom said: Call Chusai the Arachite, and let us hear what he also saith.


0 He said to his servants: You know the field of Joab near my field, that hath a crop of barley: go now and set it on fire. So the servants of Absalom set the corn on fire. And Joab's servants coming with their garments rent, said: The servants of Absalom have set part of the field on fire.
