And it came to pass after this that David defeated the Philistines, and brought them down, and David took the bridle of tribute out of the hand of the Philistines.


They wandered in a wilderness, in a place without water: they found not the way of a city for their habitation.


1 And the water covered them that afflicted them: there was not one of them left.


8 Quicken thou me according to thy mercy: and I shall keep the testimonies of thy mouth.


Remember us, O Lord, in the favour of thy people: visit us with thy salvation.


2 Purifying your souls in the obedience of charity, with a brotherly love, from a sincere heart love one another earnestly:


1 My soul hath fainted after thy salvation: and in thy word I have very much hoped.


1 Thou hast multiplied thy magnificence; and turning to me thou hast comforted me.


Why then is thy apparel red, and thy garments like theirs that tread in the winepress?


2 For which cause also I was hindered very much from coming to you, and have been kept away till now.


54 Judge my judgment and redeem me: quicken thou me for thy word's sake.


0 This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me.


Which he made to Abraham; and his oath to Isaac:


2 Am I a sea, or a whale, that thou hast enclosed me in a prison?


But David took the castle of Sion, the same is the city of David.


0 I am not worthy of the least of all thy mercies, and of thy truth which thou hast fulfilled to thy servant. With my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I return with two companies.


And God remembered Noe, and all the living creatures, and all the cattle which were with him in the ark, and brought a wind upon the earth, and the waters were abated.


Be you also as living stones built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
