2 The wicked watcheth the just man, and seeketh to put him to death,


0 And gladness and joy shall be taken away from Carmel, and there shall be no rejoicing nor shouting in the vineyards. He shall not tread out wine in the press that was wont to tread it out: the voice of the treaders I have taken away.


Save me with thy right hand, and hear me.


And it happened, as one was felling some timber, that the head of the axe fell into the water: and he cried out, and said: Alas, alas, alas, my lord, for this same was borrowed.


4 Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet laden with fetters: but as men fall before the children of iniquity, so didst thou fall. And all the people repeating it wept over him.


Who doth great things and unsearchable and wonderful things without number:


9 The rich man when he shall sleep shall take away nothing with him: he shall open his eyes and find nothing.
