Say to wisdom: Thou art my sister: and call prudence thy friend,


9 Because they have hated instruction and received not the fear of the Lord,


4 And he answering, said: I was not sent but to the sheep that are lost of the house of Israel.


0 But when thou art spoiled what wilt thou do? though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, and paintest thy eyes with stibic stone, thou shalt dress thyself out in vain: thy lovers have despised thee, they will seek thy life.


0 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: but the heart of the wicked is nothing worth.


He that gathered in the harvest is a wise son: but he that snorteth in the summer, is the son of confusion.


1 For by me shall thy days be multiplied, and years of life shall be added to thee.


2 I wisdom dwell in counsel, and am present in learned thoughts.


Because the Lord giveth wisdom: and out of his mouth cometh prudence and knowledge.


1 If they shall say: Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us hide snares for the innocent without cause:


37 Thou art just, O Lord: and thy judgment is right.


9 As the faces of them that look therein, shine in the water, so-the hearts of men are laid open to the wise.


The heaven above, and the earth beneath, and the heart of kings is unsearchable.


0 Cast out the scoffer, and contention shall go out with him, and quarrels and reproaches shall cease.


It is an honour for a man to separate himself from quarrels: but all fools are meddling with reproaches.


A false witness shall not be unpunished: and he that speaketh lies, shall perish.


5 A faithful witness delivereth souls: and the double dealer uttereth lies.


2 They err that work evil: but mercy and truth prepare good things.


8 There is that promiseth, and is pricked as it were with a sword of conscience: but the tongue of the wise is health.


4 And the words of my mouth shall be such as may please: and the meditation of my heart always in thy sight. O Lord, my helper, and my redeemer.


0 Let mercy forget him: may worms be his sweetness: let him be remembered no more, but be broken in pieces as an unfruitful tree.


Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the doors of her house.


7 Can a man hide fire in his bosom, and his garments not burn?
