Where there are no oxen, the crib is empty: but where there is much corn, there the strength of the ox is manifest.


A time to rend, and a time to sew. A time to keep silence, and a time to speak.


1 And afterwards he shall go out with his children, and shall return to his kindred and to the possession of his fathers,


5 And you have said: The way of the Lord is not right. Hear ye, therefore, O house of Israel: Is it my way that is not right, and are not rather your ways perverse?


8 Thou shalt not speak ill of the gods, and the prince of thy people thou shalt not curse.


1 But if the wicked do penance for all his sins which he hath committed, and keep all my commandments, and do judgment, and justice, living he shall live, and shall not die.


6 And hath not grieved any man, nor withholden the pledge, nor taken away with violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and covered the naked with a garment:


The eyes of the Lord in every place behold the good and the evil.


4 House and riches are given by parents: but a prudent wife is properly from the Lord.


1 Thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thy own house, and I will take thy wives before thy eyes I and give them to thy neighhour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.


0 The praises of David, the son of Jesse, are ended.


8 In the multitude of people is the dignity of the king: and in the small number of people the dishonour of the prince.
