5 The perverse are hard to be corrected, and the number of fools is infinite.

It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to the house of feasting: for in that we are put in mind of the end of all, and the living thinketh what is to come.

8 A passionate man stirreth up strifes: he that is patient appeaseth those that are stirred up.


1 The pillars of heaven tremble, and dread at his beck.


6 Lambs are for thy clothing: and kids for the price of the field.


Speak to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel the governor of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest, and to the rest of the people, saying:


2 Woe to you that are mighty to drink wine, and stout men at drunkenness.
