Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and be confounded that devise against me.


1 The law of his God is in his heart, and his steps shall not be supplanted.


4 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle is in peace, and visiting thy beauty thou shalt not sin.


2 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them who labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you:


A peaceable tongue is a tree of life: but that which is immoderate, shall crush the spirit.


4 He that spareth the rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him correcteth him betimes.


0 They have hated him that rebuketh in the gate: and have abhorred him that speaketh perfectly.


All have gone aside, they are become unprofitable together, there is none that doth good, no not one.


5 And David said to Abner: Art not thou a man? and who is like thee in Israel? why then hast thou not kept thy lord the king? for there came one of the people in to kill the king thy lord.


and hast set him over the works of thy hands.


And said: If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and my request be not disagreeable to him, I beseech thee, that the former letters of Aman the traitor and enemy of the Jews, by which he commanded that they should be destroyed in all the king's provinces, may be reversed by new letters.


And when they had gone through the whole island, as far as Paphos, they found a certain man, a magician, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesu:


Behold the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth: but yet I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the Lord.


And they cut off Saul's head, and stripped him of his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the temples of their idols, and among their people.


Let their way become dark and slippery; and let the angel of the Lord pursue them.


Thou hast made us to be a contradiction to our neighbours: and our enemies have scoffed at us.


2 When thou walkest, let them go with thee: when thou sleepest, let them keep thee; and when thou awakest, talk with them.


9 Say not: I will do to him as he hath done to me: I will render to every one according to his work.


2 They are confounded, because they have committed abomination: yea rather they are not confounded with confusion, and they have not know how to blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall; in the time of their visitation they shall fall, saith the Lord.


And go forth into the valley of the son of Ennom, which is by the entry of the earthen gate: and there thou shalt proclaim the words that I shall tell thee.


5 They made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went in, and lay with him: and neither then did he perceive when she lay down, nor when she rose up.


8 Moses therefore commanded Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun, and the princes of the families of all the tribes of Israel, and said to them:


In the mouth of a fool is the rod of pride: but the lips of the wise preserve them.


3 For the seller shall not return to that which he hath sold, although their life be yet among the living. For the vision which regardeth all the multitude thereof, shall not go back: neither shall man be strengthened in the iniquity of his life.
