9 A slave will not be corrected by words: because he understandeth what thou sayest, and will not answer.


3 Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat.


4 As the door turneth upon its hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.


6 He that neglecteth a loss for the sake of a friend, is just: but the way of the wicked shall deceive them.


8 Who saith to the king : Thou art an apostate : who calleth rulers ungodly?


These are the names of the valiant men of David. Jesbaham sitting in the chair was the wisest chief among the three, he was like the most tender little worm of the wood, who killed eight hundred men at one onset.


To David himself, understanding. Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.


4 That they may keep thee from the evil woman, and from the flattering tongue of the stranger.

As he that casteth a stone into the heap of Mercury: so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
