The wise of heart receiveth precepts: a fool is beaten with lips.


0 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayst be wise in thy latter end.


7 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house: but he that hateth bribes shall live. By mercy and faith sins are purged away: and by the fear of the Lord every one declineth from evil.


8 Even a fool, if he will hold his peace shall be counted wise: and if he close his lips, a man of understanding.


2 A passionate man provoketh quarrels: and he that is easily stirred up to wrath, shall be more prone to sin.


Thou lovest them that hate thee, and thou hatest them that love thee: and thou hast shewn this day that thou carest not for thy nobles, nor for thy servants: and I now plainly perceive that if Absalom had lived, and all we had been slain, then it would have pleased thee.


2 But in the end, it will bite like a snake, and will spread abroad poison like a basilisk.
