Better is the poor man that provideth for himself, than he that is glorious and wanteth bread.


5 And they asked him, and said to him: Why then dost thou baptize, if thou be not Christ, nor Elias, nor the prophet?


5 Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house.


9 Judgments are prepared for scorners: and striking hammers for the bodies of fools.


4 The crown of the wise is their riches: the folly of fools, imprudence.


Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend that you may know prudence.

7 Saying: Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not taken away his mercy and truth from my master, and hath brought me the straight way into the house of my master's brother.


1 Let not the foot of pride come to me, and let not the hand of the sinner move me.


0 And thy barns shall be filled with abundance, and thy presses shall run over with wine.


0 Soundness of heart is the life of the flesh: but envy is the rottenness of the bones.


5 Lie not in wait, nor seek after wickedness in the house of the just, nor spoil his rest.


You have cast out the women of my people from their houses, in which they took delight: you have taken my praise for ever from their children.


9 Whosoever shall go out of the door of thy house, his blood shall be upon his own head, and we shall be quit. But the blood of all that shall be with thee in the house, shall light upon our head, if any man touch them.


1 Bind them in thy heart continually, and put them about thy neck.


The just shall hate a lying word: but the wicked confoundeth, and shall be confounded.
