1 Whatsoever shall befall the just man. it shall not make him sad: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.


The folly of a man supplanteth his seeps: and he fretteth in his mind against God.


8 Lying lips hide hatred: he that uttereth reproach is foolish.


Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and shalt find the knowledge of God.


The just shall correct me in mercy, and shall reprove me: but let not the oil of the sinner fatten my head. For my prayer also shall still be against the things with which they are well pleased:


4 Remove from thee a froward mouth, and let detracting lips be far from thee.


5 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.


Death shall go before his face. And the devil shall go forth before his feet.


6 Thou art filled with shame instead of glory: drink thou also, and fall fast asleep: the cup of the right hand of the Lord shall compass thee, and shameful vomiting shall be on thy glory.


All the foolish of heart were troubled. They have slept their sleep; and all the men of riches have found nothing in their hands.


5 You have despised all my counsel, and have neglected my reprehensions.


Riches make many friends: but from the poor man, even they whom he had, depart.


The sword hath begun in his cities, and it shall consume his chosen men, and sha.ll devour their heads.


0 The fruit of the just man is a tree of life: and he that gaineth souls, is wise.
