And then the Lord God will take away before your eyes nations that are great and very strong, and no man shall be able to resist you.

And they went to Josue, who then abode in the camp at Galgal, and said to him, and to all Israel with him: We are come from a far country, desiring to make peace with you. And the children of Israel answered them, and said:


Behold I command thee, take courage, end be strong. Fear not and be not dismayed: because the Lord thy God is with thee in all things whatsoever thou shalt go to.


0 From thence they shall mark out the bounds towards the east side from the village of Enan unto Sephama.


2 And shall reach as far as the Jordan, and at the last shall be closed in by the most salt sea. This shall be your land with its borders round about.


Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, neither were his teeth moved.


6 And Caleb said: He that shall smite Cariath-Sepher, and take it, I will give him Axa my daughter to wife.
