8 But Josue the son of Nun, thy minister, he shall go in for thee: exhort and encourage him, and he shall divide the land by lot to Israel.


And Moses said: I will go and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.


And patience hath a perfect work; that you may be perfect and entire, failing in nothing.


4 But I spared them for the sake of my name, lest it should be profaned before the nations, from which I brought them out, in their sight.


4 We have heard the fame thereof, our hands grow feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, as a woman in labor.


4 Confusion hath devoured the labor of our fathers from our youth, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.


Shall not I that make others to bring forth children, myself bring forth, saith the Lord? shall I, that give generation to others, be barren, saith the Lord thy God?


0 For the bed is straitened, so that one must fall out, and a short covering can- not cover both.


Bring ye to the Lord, O ye kindreds of the Gentiles, bring ye to the Lord glory and honour:


Woe to us: for there was no such great joy yesterday and the day before: Woe to us. Who shall deliver us from the hand of these high gods? these are the gods that struck Egypt with all the plagues in the desert.


2 For they thought to cut them off, as they did before. But they artfully feigning a flight, designed to draw them away from the city, and by their seeming to flee to bring them to the highways aforesaid.


2 The children of Ruben also and Gad, and half the tribe of Manasses, went armed before the children of Israel as Moses had commanded them.


Hear, O ye heavens, the things I speak, let the earth give ear to the words of my mouth.


4 Let me alone that I may destroy them, and abolish their name from under heaven, and set thee over a nation, that is greater and stronger than this.


7 And the tabernacle was taken down, and the sons of Gerson and Merari set forward, bearing it.


And you shall be to me a priestly kingdom, and a holy nation. Those are the words thou shalt speak to the children of Israel.


Behold, God is my saviour, I will deal confidently, and will not fear: O because the Lord is my strength, and my praise, and he is become my salvation.


0 Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the islands that are afar off, and say: He that scattered Israel will gather him: and he will keep him as the shepherd doth his flock.
