4 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly unto the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all: If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of the Gentiles, and not as the Jews do, how dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?


For a great door and evident is opened unto me: and many adversaries.


3 And the publican, standing afar off, would not so much as lift up his eyes towards heaven; but struck his breast, saying: O god, be merciful to me a sinner.


2 They err that work evil: but mercy and truth prepare good things.


Doth not wisdom cry aloud, and prudence put forth her voice ?


5 And Dalila said to him: How dost thou say thou lovest me, when thy mind is not with me? Thou hast told me lies these three times, and wouldst not tell me wherein thy great strength lieth.


1 And he answered her: If I shall be bound with new ropes, that were never in work, I shall be weak and like other men.


And I sent to them, saying: There is no such thing done as thou sayest: but thou feignest these things out of thy own heart.


0 And I went into the house of Samaia the son of Delaia, the son of Metabeel privately. And he said: Let us consult together in the house of God in the midst of the temple: and let us shut the doors of the temple, for they will come to kill thee, and in the night they will come to slay thee.
