14 9 And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem were at rest on the sabbath day, I spoke: and they shut the gates, and I commanded that they should not open them till after the sabbath: and I set some of my servants at the gates, that none should bring in burthens on the sabbath day.

9 Which we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, and which entereth in even within the veil;


And when the days of the feast were expired, he invited all the people that were found in Susan, from the greatest to the least: and commanded a feast to be made seven days in the court of the garden, and of the wood, which was planted by the care and the hand of the king.


7 And shall we also be disobedient and do all this great evil to transgress against our God, and marry strange women?


5 And thou Esdras according to the wisdom of thy God, which is in thy hand, appoint judges and magistrates, that may judge all the people, that is beyond the river, that is, for them who know the law of thy God, yea and the ignorant teach ye freely.


And Sanaballat sent his servant to me the fifth time according to the former word, and he had a letter in his hand written in this manner:


1 And they gathered themselves together against him, and stoned him at the king's commandment in the court of the house of the Lord.


And all they that had stones, gave them to the treasures of the house of the Lord, by the hand of Jahiel the Gersonite.

Now these are the chiefs of families, and the genealogy of them, who came up with me from Babylon in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.


And Ezechias had said to Isaias: What shall be the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up to the temple of the Lord the third day?


1 I said: I shall not see the Lord God in the land of the living. I shall behold man no more, nor the inhabitant of rest.
