And I will make her that halted, a remnant: and her that hath been afflicted, a mighty nation: and the Lord will reign over them in mount Sion, from this time now and for ever.


0 Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light: and obscurity, and no brightness in it?


8 My sorrow is above sorrow, my heart mourneth within me.


4 I write not these things to confound you; but I admonish you as my dearest children.


3 But he answering, said: He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, he shall betray me.


They have transgressed against the Lord, for they have begotten children that are strangers: now shall a month devour them with their portions.


And their names were Oolla the elder, and Ooliba her younger sister: and I took them, and they bore sons and daughters. Now for their names, Samaria is Oolla, and Jerusalem is Ooliba.


4 Shall thy heart endure, or shall thy hands prevail ill the days which I will bring upon thee: I the Lord have spoken, and will do it.


3 But yet acknowledge thy iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God: and thou hast scattered thy ways to strangers under every green tree, and hast not heard my voice, saith the Lord.


In measure against measure, when it shall be cast off, thou shalt judge it. He hath meditated with his severe spirit in the day of heat.


1 And your strength shall be as the ashes of tow, and your work as a spark: and both shall burn together, and there shall be none to quench it.


A fool receiveth not the words of prudence: unless thou say those things which are in his heart.


3 The Lord standeth up to judge, and he standeth to judge the people.


IN the year that king Ozias died, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high and elevated: and his train filled the temple.


5 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high: and the desert shall be se a charmel, and charmel shall be counted for a forest.


And when he had commanded the man that was clothed with linen, saying: Take fire from the midst of the wheels that are between the cherubims: he went in and stood beside the wheel,


0 As they gather silver, and brass, and tin, and iron, and lead in the midst of the furnace: that I may kindle a fire in it to melt it: so will I gather you together in my fury and in my wrath, and will take my rest, and I will melt you down.

Who have eaten the flesh of my people, and have flayed their skin from off them: and have broken, and chopped their bones as for the kettle, and as flesh in the midst of the pot.


0 You that build up Sion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.


The evil man obeyeth an unjust tongue: and the deceitful hearkeneth to lying lips.


0 But when thou art spoiled what wilt thou do? though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, and paintest thy eyes with stibic stone, thou shalt dress thyself out in vain: thy lovers have despised thee, they will seek thy life.


9 And I will raise up for them a bud of renown: and they shall be no more consumed with famine in the land, neither shall they bear any more the reproach of the Gentiles.
