And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:


0 And the wisdom of Solomon surpassed the wisdom of all the Orientals, and of the Egyptians,


And behold there was a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring reed of six cubits and a handbreadth: and he measured the breadth of the building one reed, and the height one reed.


8 And he shall destroy the wicked, and the sinners together: and they that have forsaken the Lord, shall be consumed.


Behold thou shalt call a nation, which thou knewest not: and the nations that knew not thee shall run to thee, because of the Lord thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel, for he hath glorified thee.


Because thou hast been an everlasting enemy, and hast shut up the children of Israel in the hands of the sword in the time of their affliction, in the time of their last iniquity.


They have not known the way of peace, and there is no judgment in their steps: their paths are become crooked to them, every one that treadeth in them, knoweth no peace.


3 Who hath forwarded the spirit of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor, and hath taught him?


9 And I have spoken in my zeal, and in the fire of my anger, that in that day there shall be a great commotion upon the land of Israel:


Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy concerning it, and say to it:


I am the Lord that keep it, I will suddenly give it drink: lest any hurt come to it, I keep it night and day.


1 I will set my tabernacle in the midst of you, and my soul shall not cast you off.


He that is mocked by his friends as I, shall call upon God and he will hear him: for the simplicity of the just man is laughed to scorn.


0 The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts:


0 Because thou hast forgotten God thy saviour, and hast not remembered thy strong helper: therefore shalt thou plant good plants, and shalt sow strange seed.


Who hath taken this counsel against Tyre, that was formerly crowned, whose merchants were princes, and her traders the nobles of the earth?


And he sent Eliacim who was over the house, and Sobna the scribe, and the ancients of the priests covered with sackcloth, to Isaias the son of Amos the prophet.


8 Thus saith the Lord: Behold I bring back the captivity of the pavilions of Jacob, and will have pity on his houses, and the city shall be built in her place, and the temple shall be found according to the order thereof.


0 So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees, and fir trees, according to all his desire.


2 For every mocker is an abomination to the Lord, and his communication is with the simple.


The Lord is magnified, for he hath dwelt on high: he hath filled Sion with judgment and justice.


2 Therefore their way shall be as a slippery way in the dark: for they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evils upon them, the year of their visitation, saith the Lord.


1 And I will destroy the cities of thy land, and will throw down all thy strong holds,
