And he said: It is a small thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to convert the dregs of Israel. Behold, I have given thee to be the light of the Gentiles, that thou mayst be my salvation even to the farthest part of the earth.


I will be as the dew, Israel shall spring as the lily, and his root shall shoot forth as that of Libanus.


2 And the earth shall hear the core, and the wine, and the oil, and these shall hear Jezrahel.


1 Tell ye, and come, and consult together: who hath declared this from the beginning, who hath foretold this from that time? Have not I the Lord, and there is no God else besides me? A just God and a saviour, there is none besides me.


2 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob, neither hast thou laboured about me, O Israel.

And he burnt the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and the houses of Jerusalem, and every house he burnt with fire.


8 For he hath also sent to us in Babylon, saying: It is a long time: build ye houses, and dwell in them: and plant gardens, and eat the fruits of them.


Therefore behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will cause the noise of war to be heard in Rabbath of the children of Ammon, and it shall be destroyed into a heap, and her daughters shall be burnt with fire, and Israel shall possess them that have possessed him, saith the Lord.

1 And I will destroy the cities of thy land, and will throw down all thy strong holds,


Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Juda and Benjamin, and the priests, and Levites, and every one whose spirit God had raised up, to go up to build the temple of the Lord, which was in Jerusalem.


They are become as amorous horses and stallions, every one neighed after his neighbor's wife.


2 Thou shalt speak therefore to them this word: Thus saith the Lord God of Israel: Every bottle shall be filled with wine, and they shall say to thee: Do we not know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?


0 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord, that I will take away thy horses out of the midst of thee, and will destroy thy chariots.
