6 And you yourselves like to men who wait for their lord, when he shall return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open to him immediately.


But he answering, said to them: Why do you also transgress the commandment of God for your tradition? For God said:


And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of scandal, to them who stumble at the word, neither do believe, whereunto also they are set.


6 Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.


4 And behold the whole city went out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart from their coasts.


But when the morning was come, Jesus stood on the shore: yet the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.


And crying with a loud voice, he said: What have I to do with thee, Jesus the Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God that thou torment me not.


For unto us also it hath been declared, in like manner as unto them. But the word of hearing did not profit them, not being mixed with faith of those things they heard.


9 And John, answering, said: Master, we saw a certain man casting out devils in thy name, and we forbade him, because he followeth not with us.


7 But Jesus taking him by the hand, lifted him up; and he arose.


5 He said: Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying: What is thy opinion, Simon? The kings of the earth, of whom do they receive tribute or custom? of their own children, or of strangers?


4 They shall still increase in a fruitful old age: and shall be well treated,
