9 And seeing a certain fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves only, and he saith to it: May no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.


6 For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul?


2 And Peter taking him, began to rebuke him, saying: Lord, be it far from thee, this shall not be unto thee.

2 The next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea, saw that there was no other ship there but one, and that Jesus had not entered into the ship with his disciples, but that his disciples were gone away alone.


3 And I knew him not; but he who sent me to baptize with water, said to me: He upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining upon him, he it is that baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.


9 The next day, John saw Jesus coming to him, and he saith: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who taketh away the sin of the world.


7 But I tell you of a truth: There are some standing here that shall not taste death, till they see the kingdom of God.


6 And taking the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed them; and he broke, and distributed to his disciples, to set before the multitude.


7 Wherefore I say to thee: Many sins are forgiven her, because she hath loved much. But to whom less is forgiven, he loveth less.


4 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak to the multitudes concerning John. What went ye out into the desert to see? a reed shaken with the wind?


5 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he hath had regard to take away my reproach among men.


4 Who when she was gone out, said to her mother, What shall I ask? But she said: The head of John the Baptist.
