2 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,


3 Watch ye therefore, because you know not the day nor the hour.


2 So they spread a tent for Absalom on the top of the house, and he went in to his father's concubines before all Israel.


3 They have sown wheat, and reaped thorns: they have received an inheritance, and it shall not profit them: you shall be ashamed of your fruits, because of the fierce wrath of the Lord.


4 And they cried to the Lord, and said: We beseech thee, O Lord, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee.


4 And he that betrayed him, had given them a sign, saying: Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he; lay hold on him, and lead him away carefully.


6 But they laid hands on him, and held him.
