1 And they answered the angel of the Lord, that stood among the myrtle trees, and said: We have walked through the earth, and behold all the earth is inhabited, and is at rest.


As it is written: God hath given them the spirit of insensibility; eyes that they should not see; and ears that they should not hear, until this present day.


1 For the scripture saith: Whosoever believeth in him, shall not be confounded.


7 To him therefore who knoweth to do good, and doth it not, to him it is sin.


5 He commanded the Levites, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord. saying:


Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know these things? for the ways of the Lord are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall in them.


4 Because this my son was dead, and is come to life again: was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.


Declare ye in Juda, and make it heard in Jerusalem: speak, and sound with the trumpet in the land: cry aloud, and say: Assemble yourselves, and let us go into strong cities.


5 That upon you may come all the just blood that hath been shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the just, even unto the blood of Zacharias the son of Barachias, whom you killed between the temple and the altar.


4 Cursed is the deceitful man that hath in his flock a male, and making a vow offereth in sacrifice that which is feeble to the Lord: for I am a great King, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the Gentiles.


6 As I pleaded against your fathers in the desert of the land of Egypt; even so will I judge you, saith the Lord God.


9 And I said to them: What meaneth the high place to which you go? and the name thereof was called High-place even to this day.


1 But their children provoked me, they walked not in my commandments, nor observed my judgments to do them: which if a man do, he shell live in them: and they violated my sabbaths: and I threatened to pour out my indignation upon them, and to accomplish my wrath in them in the desert.


6 Because they cast off my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, and violated my sabbaths: for their heart went after idols.


0 And the plains shall be turned to folds of hocks, and the valley of Achor into a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.


1 Yet in thy very many mercies thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them: because thou art a merciful and gracious God.


And you shall tread down the wicked when they shall be ashes under the sole of your feet in the day that I do this, saith the Lord of hosts.


4 And I will cause ot cease out of the cities of Juda, and out of the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of joy, and the coice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.


7 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.


3 And the carcasses of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the air, and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall be non to drive them away.


9 O Lord, my might, and my strength, and my refuge in the day of tribulation: to thee the Gentiles shall come from the ends of the earth, and shall say: Surely our fathers have possessed lies, a vanity which hath not profited them.


0 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and there are no gods?


And he said to me: Son of man, eat all that thou shalt find: eat this book, and go speak to the children of Israel.
