1 But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people according to the former days, saith the Lord of hosts.


But draw near hither, you sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer, and of the harlot.


Behold the man that made not God his helper: But trusted in the abundance of his riches: and prevailed in his vanity.


1 And God said to Solomon: Because this choice hath pleased thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, and wealth, and glory, nor the lives of them that hate thee, nor many days of life: but hast asked wisdom and knowledge, to be able to judge my people, over which I have made thee king,


Then David said: This is the house of God, and this is the altar for the holocaust of Israel.


And when David had made an end of offering holocausts, and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.


Therefore will God destroy thee for ever: he will pluck thee out, and remove thee from thy dwelling place: and thy root out of the land of the living.
