0 Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom, give ear to the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrha.


Wherefore laying away all malice, and all guile, and dissimulations, and envies, and all detractions,


And now they have sinned more and more : and they have made to themselves a molten thing of their silver as the likeness of idols: the whole is the work of craftsmen: to these that say: Sacrifice men, ye that adore calves.


That dwell in sepulchres, and sleep in the temple of idols: that eat swine's flesh, and profane broth is in their vessels.


1 Put you on the armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the deceits of the devil.


4 There are four very little things of the earth, and they are wiser than the wise:


9 For he was teaching them as one having power, and not as the scribes and Pharisees.


7 But thou, when thou fastest anoint thy head, and wash thy face;


8 Three things are hard to me, and the fourth I am utterly ignorant of.


1 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife: nor his house, nor his field, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is his.


And shall bear his iniquity, because he hath defiled the holy thing of the Lord, and that soul shall perish from among his people.


7 And Jesus looking on them, saith: With men it is impossible; but not with God: for all things are possible with God.


7 Then Peter answering, said to him: Behold we have left all things, and have followed thee: what therefore shall we have?


4 I will not visit upon your daughters when they shell commit fornication, and upon your spouses when they shall commit adultery: because themselves conversed with harlots, and offered sacrifice with the effeminate, and the people that doth not understand shall be beaten.


And they committed fornication in Egypt, in their youth they committed fornication: there were their breasts pressed down, and the teats of their virginity were bruised.


9 Behold the whirlwind of the Lord's indignation shall come forth, and a tempest shall break out and come upon the head of the wicked.


4 Let them alone: they are blind, and leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the pit.


6 When thou shalt hate her put her away, saith the Lord the God of Israel: but iniquity shall cover his garment, saith the Lord of hosts, keep your spirit, and despise not.


7 But he said: He that shewed mercy to him. And Jesus said to him: Go, and do thou in like manner.


4 For every tree is known by its fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns; nor from a bramble bush do they gather the grape.


8 And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? understand you not that every thing from without, entering into a man cannot defile him:


7 And here is hope for thy last end, saith the Lord: and the children shall return to their own borders.


8 Then Peter said: Behold, we have left all things, and have followed thee.


2 Then came his disciples, and said to him: Dost thou know that the Pharisees, when they heard this word, were scandalized?


Ephraim shall be in desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel I have shewn that which shall surely be.


6 Except Caleb the son of Jephone: for he shall see it, and to him I will give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath followed the Lord.


Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.


3 He that rendereth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.


For I will pour out waters upon the thirsty ground, and streams upon the dry land: I will pour out my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thy stock.


2 Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and thou shalt say: Return, O rebellious Israel, saith the Lord, and I will not turn away my face from you: for I am holy, saith the Lord, and I will not be angry for ever.


And Jeremias commanded Baruch, saying: I am shut up, and cannot go into the house of the Lord.


2 And I will leave in the midst of thee a poor and needy people: and they shall hope in the name of the Lord.


Therefore have I also made you contemptible, and base before all people, as you have not kept my ways, and have accepted persons in the law.


Behold I send my angel, and he shall prepare the way before my face. And presently the Lord, whom you seek, and the angel of the testament, whom you desire, shall come to his temple. Behold he cometh, saith the Lord of hosts.

A people that continually provoke me to anger before my face: that immolate in gardens, and sacrifice upon bricks.


3 Your words have been unsufferable to me, saith the Lord.
