4 Let all the seed of Israel fear him: because he hath not slighted nor despised the supplication of the poor man. Neither hath he turned away his face from me: and when I cried to him he heard me.


The things that were first, behold they are come: and new things do I declare: before they spring forth, I will make you head them.


3 Be ye subject therefore to every human creature for God's sake: whether it be to the king as excelling;


2 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. And the rich man also died: and he was buried in hell.


6 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself: how then shall his kingdom stand?


1 Because his soul hath laboured, he shall see and be filled: by his knowledge shall this my just servant justify many, and he shall bear their iniquities.


Again the devil took him up into a very high mountain, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them,


And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be confounded, every one by his own vision, when he shall prophesy, neither shall they be clad with a garment of sackcloth, to deceive :


2 Heth. The mercies of the Lord that we are not consumed: because his commiserations have not failed.


5 Can a woman forget her infant, so as not to have pity on the son of her womb? and if she should forget, yet will not I forget thee.


8 And unto old age and grey hairs: O God, forsake me not, Until I shew forth thy arm to all the generation that is to come: Thy power,


3 For the Lord hath heard the poor: and hath not despised his prisoners.


2 Thou hast seen, O Lord, be not thou silent : O Lord, depart not from me.


Unto the end, for her that obtaineth the inheritance. A psalm of David: Give ear, O Lord, to my words, understand my cry.


1 But they cried again, saying: Crucify him, crucify him.


7 Now the centurion, seeing what was done, glorified God, saying: Indeed this was a just man.
