Therefore when thou dost an almsdeed, sound not a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be honoured by men. Amen I say to you, they have received their reward.


BEHOLD the hand of the Lord is not shortened that it cannot save, neither is his ear heavy that it cannot hear.


Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits if they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.


LET every soul be subject to higher powers: for there is no power but from God: and those that are, are ordained of God.


8 And let us out themselves. And the serjeants told these words to the magistrates. And they were afraid, hearing that they were Romans.


5 And they said to him: Lord, he hath ten pounds.


0 Who shall not receive much more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.


7 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fall.


Calling to mind that faith which is in thee unfeigned, which also dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunice, and I am certain that in thee also.


5 Their possessions and goods they sold, and divided them to all, according as every one had need.


1 If then you have not been faithful in the unjust mammon; who will trust you with that which is the true?

7 Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when he cometh, shall find watching. Amen I say to you, that he will gird himself, and make them sit down to meat, and passing will minister unto them.


0 For all these things do the nations of the world seek. But your Father knoweth that you have need of these things.


9 For this cause also the wisdom of God said: I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute.


3 But a certain Samaritan being on his journey, came near him; and seeing him, was moved with compassion.


9 But Herod the tetrarch, when he was reproved by him for Herodias, his brother's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done;


Rejoice therefore, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart be in that which is good in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thy eyes: and know that for all these God will bring thee into judgment.


5 Jesus saith to them: But whom do you say that I am?


4 Consider the ravens, for they sow not, neither do they reap, neither have they storehouse nor barn, and God feedeth them. How much are you more valuable than they?


6 If then ye be not able to do so much as the least thing, why are you solicitous for the rest?
