AND when it was determined that he should sail into Italy, and that Paul, with the other prisoners, should be delivered to a centurion, named Julius, of the band Augusta,


1 For thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days, since I went up to adore in Jerusalem:


4 And when he had read it, and had asked of what province he was, and understood that he was of Cilicia;


2 And the Spirit said to me, that I should go with them, nothing doubting. And these six brethren went with me also: and we entered into the man's house.


7 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves also will, by word of mouth, tell you the same things.

But take heed lest perhaps this your liberty become a stumblingblock to the weak.


For behold I was conceived in iniquities; and in sins did my mother conceive me.


6 And after some days, Paul said to Barnabas: Let us return and visit our brethren in all the cities wherein we have preached the word of the Lord, to see how they do.


3 And after they had spent some time there, they were let go with peace by the brethren, unto them that had sent them.


According to the custom of the priestly office, it was his lot to offer incense, going into the temple of the Lord.


Smelling sweet of the best ointments. Thy name is as oil poured out: therefore young maidens have loved thee.


2 For evils without number have surrounded me; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I was not able to see. They are multiplied above the hairs of my head : and my heart hath forsaken me.


8 Pass not beyond the ancient bounds which thy fathers have set.


And he said: In what then were you baptized? Who said: In John's baptism.


5 Meditate upon these things, be wholly in these things: that thy profiting may be manifest to all.
