10 5 And he came to Soccoth and said to them: Behold Zebee and Salmana, concerning whom you upbraided me, saying: Peradventure the hands of Zebee and Salmana, are in thy hands, and therefore thou demandest that we should give bread to the men that are weary and faint.

7 And he said to them: What you shall see me do, do you the same: I will go into one part of the camp, and do you as I shall do.


And go in, and shut thy door, when thou art within, and thy sons: and pour out thereof into all those vessels: and when they are full take them away.


O Lord God of Israel, why is so great an evil come to pass in thy people, that this day one tribe should be taken away from among us?


0 And perceived as it were a pillar of smoke rise up from the city; and Benjamin looking back, saw that the city was taken, and that the flames ascended on high:


0 And they drew up their army against Benjamin the third time, as they had done the first and second.


2 Again Israel trusting in their strength and their number, set their army in array in the same place, where they had fought before:


0 And going out from thence to fight against Benjamin, began to assault the city.


You are all here, O children of Israel, determine what you ought to do.


And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians, and I will protect it.


2 The Syrians from the east, and the Philistines from the west: and they shall devour Israel with open mouth, For all this his indignation is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.


3 And they said to them: You shall not bring in the captives hither, lest we sin against the Lord. Why will you add to our sins, and heap up upon our former offences? for the sin is great, and the fierce anger of the Lord hangeth over Israel.


1 But hear ye my counsel, and release the captives that you have brought of your brethren, because a great indignation of the Lord hangeth over you.


2 And the rest of the acts of Abia, and of his ways and works, are written diligently in the book of Addo the prophet.


And he answered them: What could I have done like to that which you have done? Is not one bunch of grapes of Ephraim better than the vintages of Abiezer?


0 And I said: I am the Lord your God, fear not the gods of the Amorrhites, in whose land you dwell. And you would not hear my voice.


6 So he took the ancients of the city and thorns and briers of the desert, and tore them with the same, and cut in pieces the men of Soccoth.


8 When the trumpet shall sound in my hand, do you also blow the trumpets on every side of the camp.
