4 And the Lord looked upon him, and said: Go in this thy strength, and then shalt deliver Israel out of the hand of Madian: know that I have sent thee.


3 And they ran and fetched him thence: and he stood in the midst of the people, and he was higher than any of the people from the shoulders and upward.


Seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be the solemnity of the Lord.


7 And when Pharao had sent out the people, the Lord led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines which is near: thinking lest perhaps they would repent, if they should see wars arise against them, and would return into Egypt.


8 And the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them from his sight, and there remained only the tribe of Juda.
