5 And he came to Soccoth and said to them: Behold Zebee and Salmana, concerning whom you upbraided me, saying: Peradventure the hands of Zebee and Salmana, are in thy hands, and therefore thou demandest that we should give bread to the men that are weary and faint.


2 Again Israel trusting in their strength and their number, set their army in array in the same place, where they had fought before:


0 And going out from thence to fight against Benjamin, began to assault the city.


And go in, and shut thy door, when thou art within, and thy sons: and pour out thereof into all those vessels: and when they are full take them away.


4 And David said to Gad: I am in a great strait: but it is better that I should fall into the hands of the Lord (for his mercies are many) than into the hands of men.


And all the people standing, answered as by the voice of one man: We will not return to our tents, neither shall any one of us go into his own house:


3 And Saul said: No man shall be killed this day, because the Lord this day hath wrought salvation in Israel:


7 Is it a small thing to you that you sinned with Beelphegor, and the stain of that crime remaineth in us to this day? and many of the people perished.


8 And the king answering, said to the woman: Hide not from me the thing that I ask thee. And the woman said to him: Speak, my lord the king.
