2 And his eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many diadems, and he had a name written, which no man knoweth but himself.


8 And cried, seeing the place of her burning, saying: What city is like to this great city?


THE land that was desolate and impassable shall be glad, and the wilderness shall rejoice, and shall flourish like the lily.


2 even to him who taketh away the spirit of princes: to the terrible with the kings of the earth.


The lamp despised in the thoughts of the rich, is ready for the time appointed.


8 He looked towards Sodom and Gomorrha, and the whole land of that country: and he saw the ashes rise up from the earth as the smoke of a furnace.


4 So all being slain that had pursued after Israel in his flight to the wilderness, and tailing by the sword in the same place, the children of Israel returned and laid waste the city.


6 But Josue drew not back his hand, which he had stretched out on high, holding the shield, till all the inhabitants of Hai were slain.


3 And so it was, that they were slain on both sides by the enemies, and there was no rest of their men dying. They fell and were beaten down on the east side of the city Gabaa.


5 And when they that remained of Benjamin saw this, they fled into the wilderness and made towards the rock that is called Remmon. In that flight, also as they were straggling and going different ways, they slew of them five thousand men. And as they went farther, they still pursued them, and slew also other two thousand.


6 And so it came to pass, that all that were slain of Benjamin in divers places, were five and twenty thousand fighting men, most valiant for war.
