Then Moses and the children of Israel sung this canticle to the Lord: and said: Let us sing to the Lord: for he is gloriously magnified, the horse and the rider he hath thrown into the sea.


5 And overthrew the wheels of the chariots, and they were carried into the deep. And the Egyptians said: Let us flee from Israel: for the Lord fighteth for them against us.


3 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,


You have hoped in the Lord for evermore, in the Lord God mighty for ever.


3 And he took up the mantle of Elias, that fell from him: and going back, he stood upon the bank of the Jordan,


The children of Israel therefore did as Josue commanded them, carrying out of the channel of the Jordan twelve stones, as the Lord had commanded him, according to the number of the children of Israel, unto the place wherein they camped, and there they set them.


8 Of whom the world was not worthy; wandering in deserts, in mountains, and in dens, and in caved of the earth.


4 And now the morning watch was come, and behold the Lord looking upon the Egyptian army through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, slew their host.


6 And whatsoever I had thought to do to them, I will do to you.


That it may be a sign among you end when your children shall ask you to morrow, saying: What mean these stones?


He did what the Lord had commanded, and he circumcised the children of Israel in the hill of the foreskins.


6 Command the priests, that carry the ark of the covenant, to come up out of the Jordan.


Luring the forty years of the journey in the wide wilderness, were uncircumcised: till all they were consumed that had not heard the voice of the Lord, and to whom he had sworn before, that he would not shew them the land flowing with milk and honey.
