Man is born to labour and the bird to fly.


1 Then the Philistines seized upon him, and forthwith pulled out his eyes, and led him bound in chains to Gaza, and shutting him up in prison made him grind.


5 And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year: for to kill the third part of men.


For according to their power ( I bear them witness), and beyond their power, they were willing.


6 Rise, let us go: behold he is at hand that will betray me.


4 Remember that thou knowest not his work, concerning which men have sung.


And the Lord said to Jonas: Dost thou think thou hast reason to be angry, for the ivy? And he said: I am angry with reason even unto death.


For the wickedness of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the wickedness of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Juda? are they not Jerusalem ?


And all her graven things shall be cut in pieces, and all her wages shall be burnt with fire, and I will bring to destruction all her idols: for they were gathered together of the hire of a harlot, and unto the hire of a harlot they shall return.


And this was the tenor of the letters: Proclaim a fast, and make Naboth sit among the chief of the people,
