8 Father, glorify thy name. A voice therefore came from heaven: I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.


And the things which thou hast heard of me by many witnesses, the same commend to faithful men, who shall be fit to teach others also.


A faithful saying: if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.


Rooted and built up in him, and confirmed in the faith, as also you have learned, abounding in him in thanksgiving.


7 That Christ may dwell by faith in your hearts; that being rooted and founded in charity,


9 Immediately therefore they departed from him that were about to torture him. The tribune also was afraid after he understood that he was a Roman citizen, and because he had bound him.

6 And they conversed there in the church a whole year; and they taught a great multitude, so that at Antioch the disciples were first named Christians.

When he had said these things, he himself stayed in Galilee.


8 And one of them named Agabus, rising up, signified by the Spirit, that there should be a great famine over the whole world, which came to pass under Claudius.


This same heard Paul speaking. Who looking upon him, and seeing that he had faith to be healed,


2 And many indeed of them believed, and of honourable women that were Gentiles, and of men not a few.


2 But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,


4 Wherefore God gave them up to the desires of their heart, unto uncleanness, to dishonour their own bodies among themselves.
