BEFORE the festival day of the pasch, Jesus knowing that his hour was come, that he should pass out of this world to the Father: having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them unto the end.


And not rather (as we are slandered, and as some affirm that we say) let us do evil, that there may come good? whose damnation is just.


2 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation.


3 But woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men, for you yourselves do not enter in; and those that are going in, you suffer not to enter.


6 Because it is written: You shall be holy, for I am holy.


5 And I will raise me up a faithful priest, who shall do according to my heart, and my soul, and I will build him a faithful house, and he shall walk all days before my anointed.


4 I write not these things to confound you; but I admonish you as my dearest children.


8 And knowest his will, and approvest the more profitable things, being instructed by the law,


5 Who shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness to them, and their thoughts between themselves accusing, or also defending one another,


5 And they said to him: Lord, he hath ten pounds.


3 For Solomon had made a brazen scaffold, and had set it in the midst of the temple, which was five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high: and he stood upon it: then kneeling down in the presence of all the multitude of Israel, and lifting up his hands towards heaven,


0 And whosoever shall keep the whole law, but offend in one point, is become guilty of all.


For unto us also it hath been declared, in like manner as unto them. But the word of hearing did not profit them, not being mixed with faith of those things they heard.


And, when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was wanting to me, the brethren supplied who came from Macedonia; and in all things I have kept myself from being burthensome to you, and so I will keep myself.


1 And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou has given me; that they may be one, as we also are.


1 Amen, amen I say to you: If any man keep my word, he shall not see death for ever.


8 You yourselves do bear me witness, that I said, I am not Christ, but that I am sent before him.


For the destruction of the land, because there came no rain upon the earth, the husbandmen were confounded, they covered their heads.


5 And Samuel saw Saul no more till the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul, because the Lord repented that he had made him king over Israel.


And a great multitude followed him, because they saw the miracles which he did on them that were diseased.


5 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us, and please not God, and are adversaries to all men;


Who gave himself a redemption for all, a testimony in due times.


I John, your brother and your partner in tribulation, and in the kingdom, and patience in Christ Jesus, was in the island, which is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus.
